to the light.
They call me Coach Jedi Jason, and that name isn't an accident. For years, I was on the dark side.
I was a manager at a collection agency, and I didn't just make the calls, I trained countless collectors to be the cutthroat voices on the other end of the phone. I knew every tactic, every pressure point, every way the machine squeezed people. I was deep in that world.
And here's the irony that still gets me: while I was a collection agency manager, my mom's battle with cancer and the loss that followed left me drowning in my own mountain of debt. More than $78,000 of it.
Because I knew the system from the inside, I figured out how to settle that debt for pennies on the dollar, saving almost $60,000 and clearing it myself. And that's when everything changed. I couldn't keep being part of the dark side of an industry that profits off people's fear, not when I knew there was a better way.
So in the year 2000, I crawled out, walked away for good, and crossed over to the light side: helping everyday people escape debt, transform their finances, and reclaim their future.
This is the story of how I got there, and why I've spent my life since helping other people find their way out too.
The fire started early.
I was eight years old when I made my first dollar that wasn't an allowance.
While the other kids were doing what kids do, I was already a builder, figuring out how to create value, solve problems, and make something out of nothing. I didn't have a word for it back then. I just knew I had a fire in me to build.
That fire took me places. It carried me into the business world and, eventually, deep inside the credit and collections industry. But here's what I learned the hard way: having a fire to build doesn't make you untouchable. I thought I understood money. I thought I had it figured out.
Then life came for me, and showed me what I was really made of.
Then everything changed.
My mom was diagnosed with cancer.
In that moment, nothing else mattered. Not the job, not the money, not the plans. My family made the only choice that made sense: we focused on being there for her, giving her the time, the care, and the love she deserved in the season she had left.
To carry us through, we leaned on savings, and then on credit. You do what you have to do for the people you love. You don't count the cost when it's family.
But when she passed, and the grief settled enough for me to look up, I saw the aftermath. I was buried under more than $78,000 in debt.
And here's the part that still hits me: I was now getting the exact same kind of collection calls I used to make for a living. I was on the other side of the phone. The machine I helped run was now coming for me.
I knew how those calls worked.
Now I knew what they felt like.
What I learned on the way out became my life's work.
Once I was free, I couldn't unsee what I'd learned. I knew the system was keeping millions of people frozen, paying thousands to settlement sharks, shrinking their lives on the advice of scarcity gurus, and still ending up right back where they started.
I knew there was a better way, because I'd lived it.
Since then, I've helped thousands of people eliminate their debts for a fraction of what they owed, saving them millions of dollars. I've created courses, programs, and books to help people escape debt, transform their finances, and build real, lasting financial freedom. And as a business coach, I've helped countless others launch businesses, ignite and multiply their income, and build futures they once thought were impossible.
But over the years, I realized something bigger. Getting out of debt was never the whole answer. The people who truly transformed their lives didn't just fix their finances, they changed what was frozen underneath: their focus, their beliefs, their identity, and their vision for the future.
